(ASCA) - Roma, 10 March -''We welcome the words of the President of the Republic and from our side there is' a commitment to upgrade and improve interventions in research.'' This was underlined by the Minister of Education, 's University ' and Research, Mariastella Gelmini , at the presentation of school initiatives for the 150th anniversary of the unification 'of Italy, in response to the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano , who today addressed a warning to invest in research and to respond to the demands of young people.
''certainly - he added - now at the table for growth with the minister Tremonti will discuss research and how optimize the resources employed in this sector. I hope that it could soon be definitively approved the National Plan on research that has tremendous opportunity 'for the country, and for the South in particular, to facilitate the use of our best researchers in Italy.''
Surely, he concluded Gelmini,''I am confident that the national plan of reforms which will introduce in Europe 'taken due to the school division universities' and research upon which the capacity 'of the country to respond to the crisis.''
