There are only last minute holidays. There is also the food.

In Italy each year 1.5 million tonnes of food absolutely edible, equal to a market value of € 4 billion, is thrown: stored in a landfill or burned in an incinerator. The equivalent of 150,000 truck loads of food is in a single word wasted.

The philosophy of the project is to transform the waste into a resource: on the one hand, it creates a parallel market " last minute" because the goods are coming to maturity or held for sale because the other, it suggests that to come to the aid of needy citizens can not waste even a minute.

The project promotes the development of sustainable consumption through the organization of the collection, at supermarkets, bars and other shopping centers, all of those assets that, as close to maturity or for aesthetic imperfections, are unsaleable, and are not disposed of by retailers. This may be taken from unused surplus and put at the service of communities, non-profit organization, the charities, apparatus and local citizens in need.

Apart from the indisputable social value of this project for the weaker sections of the population, the initiative is cost-effective for all operators involved in the process. But where is the gain of individuals? Surely a return image in terms of "ethical advantage," but the advantage is still affordable, is zero since the costs of disposal of discarded goods, and tax, with the ability to recover VAT (about 4%) food donated. The whole process concludes with an overall advantage to society.

Many people, rightly or wrongly, have criticized the presence of many supermarkets on our territory. With this project, we highlight how each existing structure on the territory should be seen as a resource. The territorial proximity of the structures of large retail supermarket chains present in Clusone allows the construction of a logistics system exceptionally efficient and effective: a courier in a few minutes could make the tour of more than 2000 square meters of shelves in as many minutes and provide them to collection points or even directly to end-users. It will be our intention to broaden the user base common to all of the plateau, so that all citizens in need can benefit from this innovative service, seeking to entrust the management institution Sant'Andrea.
